I don’t think I would have progressed beyond a single step into completing my 4th year project if it weren’t for the internet. Thank God for aviation simulation/home theater hobbyists (some of the nerdiest nerds out there) for taking advantage of it. Reading their forums is like letting them pour their knowledge and shortcuts into a funnel that’s been wedged into my head.
If my monitor had eyes, it would see this kind of face every time I park my ass in front of the computer. Caught myself doing it again while working on this so I had to take a picture of it.
I just realised that I haven’t been using the correct resolution for my digital drawings — they’re really stretched out on my Tumblr page. Oopsy daisy.
I was trying to work out some ideas for my digital project(s). Just scratchy notes for myself.
The background looked like piss stains so I covered it up.
Sketchin’ while thinkin’
This post is treated as a reflection from one of the assigned readings given by my instructor for an Intermediate Digital Imaging course that I am enrolled in. The article written by Lev Manovich is called “What New Media is Not” which discusses the differences between “old” and “new” media in an objective point of view (they are more alike than you may think). After reading through the article, I can tell that it is already outdated from some of the arguments that were made. One particular notion of how digitized media differs from the analog that he disagrees with is this:
“In contrast to analog media where each successive copy loses quality, digitally encoded media can be copied endlessly without degradation.”
Some plaster casts. I need to figure out what I’m doing with the bottle and lightbulbs. I tried carving them for texture but after looking at these pictures I feel like I gotta change them entirely before the project is due. First, I gotta cast more lightbulbs and play around with them a bit more. Meh!
True Love. Off to a cute start with our wine tasting~ Served with aglio e olio pasta (just oily garlic pasta) that was prepared by Rebecurr :3c. It was gud!

Poked at some sculpture magazines and digital art books in the library today. The first two pictures are “sneaky” shots I took of Sarah Sze’s work and the third was an installation by Yayoi Kusama. Just taking mental notes for any inspiration that may come to mind while working on my independent projects. If it weren’t for that magazine I would’ve forgotten to keep up to date on what’s happenin’ with Kusama and not discover her collaboration with Louis Vuitton.
The clothing and accessories lines are flawless.
Ugh, I really want to be satisfied with my independent projects this year which is why I have been scoping out some sculptural and installation artwork. Just so I can give myself options of how I would want to approach developing the ideas that I have scattered around. Ok, notebook and americano with three shots of espresso, let’s hop to it. We’ll figure this out together.
